Does agnosticism lead to a negative attitude?

Is the reason my husband is annoying me this morning because he is agnostic? Or is it because he is intelligent and easily bored and so he is restless and has a negative attitude? I love him but he needs to find a hobby he really enjoys...

    Hi a_delphic,

    1. No

    2. Yes or maybe

    3. Hobby, makes sense

    4. As I have had a chance to make mistakes and reflect, I am certain that in today's crazy world, that all couples need to establish a relationship with a wise older couple (or a good counselor) and somehow get issues on the table, and learn how to actively grow both themselves and the relationship. Your hubby sounds a little like me.

As a pastor once told me, "if you are not romancing your wife, at some point in time, you will find that someone else will."

You cannot tell him that, but, somehow he needs to learn that and other many truths, and grow into a calm, mature, loving, dignified man. He needs to be mentored and he will resist it if you try to do it, I think. You can learn the hard way, or you can learn from others. The point is, there are few role models and our culture (media) is screwed up: violent, sexual, selfish, nihlistic, etc.

Read the books of John and Stassi Eldridge, “Wild at Heart” for men, and “Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul”, for women.

Hope this helps and I hope I did not cross the line into unasked for advice. If I did, I apologize.

Well, intelligence certainly can lead to agnosticism, but not a negative attitude. I'm agnostic and as optimistic as they come. However, if he's bored and annoying have him come and play religion at "answers" like many other agnostics on a sunday morning.

Seriously, are you going to sit there and generalize an entire group of people from one example? That's like looking at Tom Cruise and concluding that all white people are insane, howling lunatics.

What in the world does a person's beliefs have to do with your being annoyed? Your husband may be easily bored but it sounds like you are easily annoyed. Get a grip.
