What is a good persuasive speech topic?

Stay away from tardies and dress code. It ends being a whiny sort of "I hate it--it's so unfair!"

Try school funding or the lack there of

Evolution in the classrooms (HUGE in Kansas right now)

Sports over Arts?

How about like separate girl and boy gym periods

Here are some things i used in my essay on this:

There is less gender competition (eg girls play soccer better, or boys are better at football)

Sometimes there are 2 ways to play a sport (like girls have different point values in basketball)

This is also a really unique topic so its not like lots of other people are gonna do it, and the teacher might give extra points for that.

do the same sex classroom. they are implementing this in many schools, saying the kids learn better when they aren't distracted by opposite gender kids. are you for or against this?

dress code would be good too, i wish schools had those. it would stop all the competition for styles and things like that.

how bout applying early decision vs. not applying to early decision to universities. That is an extremley debated topic...especially recently. I bet you could find loads of information.
