You really need to have a dentist take a look. The signs are similar to most cancer: sores that don't heal, bleeding, irregular growths.

If you see anything weird that could possibly be cancer, it needs to be seen by a dentist or M.D, stat. Don't trust people on Yahoo Answers with health stuff, especially cancer.

my bf had oral cancer[floor of the mouth] his started with a lump in the neck then a ulcer under the tongue which started to grow making it hard for him to eat after a lot of nagging from me he finally went to dr and was diagnoised .the cancer was very aggressive tethering to the tongue.he went through 12 hours straight of surgery losing 2/3 of his tongue, some of the jaw bone.if you notice anything out of the ordinary, don't wait. go to your dr.right away.this kind of cancer is very aggressive.there was no color change with him

A DENTIST PERFORMING AN ORAL CANCER SCREENING IS THE BEST. THE TONGUE HAS SMALL EXTENSIONS TO IT THAT SOMETIMES TRAP CERTAIN FOODSTUFFS AND THIS MAY MAKE YOUR TONGUE APPEAR LIKE IT HAS A DARK OR YELLOWISH COATING. USING A TONGUE SCRAPER(BOUGHT IN ANY PHARMACY) CAN REMOVE THIS COATING (TRAPPED BACTERIA) AND RETURN
