Why are all you atheist (and others) so obsessed with hell?

I mean c'mon you guys, I haven't seen very many questions and answers by Christains on this topic. (except for the mean spirited ones) For hell-fire Christians(alledgedly) we don't talk about it nearly as much as you guys do.

Update:

My point is most of the hell related

questions here were not being asked by Christians yet I keep hearing "Christians threaten people with hell", "Hell brainwashers" In fact most people who tell other that they are going to hell. I don't know if any of you are going to hell because I can't forsee the future. Maybe you guys will get saved, maybe not its your choice and I am not a mind reader. The best view in my mind is to hope that no one goes to hell and that evryone gets saved. Unless your dead I don't know whether or not your going its your choice. And miracles do happen.

Because it is a puzzle to atheist that Christians don't concern themselves more with hell. How do people reconcile the fact that they are supposed to love everybody here on earth, but once they get to heaven they will not think about friends and relatives and innocent children suffering eternally in hell? Do they get their memory erased? Do they loose their compassion? Do the qualities of love, compassion and empathy which are "required" here on earth not apply in heaven? Do you become unquestioning robots?

For the equal motive that a few Theists are so obsessive about changing others. They are all human, and feature human brains, and keep intently specific ideals approximately the average international, and whilst others query it, have a have got to convert that considering. But hold in brain ... there may be 0 proof of a god, neither is there even a fair idea to scan that there's a god. Until there may be, god is a philosophy. Theists would possibly feel or else, however that notion isn't established on exact truth, it is established on how anybody feels at a main degree. That's quality ... however the ones so satisfied of a god might argue strongly (making an attempt to persuade a non-believer) that certainly there's a god.

Precisely how are we supposed to differentiate the mean spirited ones from the others? I'm not sure you've noticed, but the arrogant assertion that I and my fellow atheists are hell-bound is an almost daily occurrence.

Quite frankly, it feels like someone who feels intellectually overpowered is saying their imaginary friend is going to come along and beat us up, thereby trying to win the argument through physical threats.

Honestly, to be threatened with something that I don't believe exists only heightens the divisions between us all as human beings. It saddens me when hell threats enter into any conversation, because basically it means the Christian has left the moment and has traveled into some perspective that we cannot share.

This is a very big generalizations. Just become somebody is an atheist does not mean they are obsessed with hell. I know many people who do not believe in god but they also do not believe in hell, thus they are not obsessed with hell. The true definition of an atheist is a person who believes there is no god and rejects all religious beliefs. This includes hell. Hell is a religious belief.

Ive replied in a joking or sarcastic way regarding hell if its been brought up by christians. Makes me laugh how some christians assume that anybody who doesn't believe in god is a devil worshiper, even atheists. I obviously don't believe in either.

    Say what?

As an atheist, there is no heaven OR hell. Life is what you make of it and your continued existence can be heaven or hell on earth. An atheist believes in one thing, that he/she will become worm food, so I don't know what you are basing this argument on.

    Are you daft?

Atheists don't believe in hell. Why would they be obsessed with it?

They are simply responding to questions just like this one.

  • Atheists don't obsess about a place we don't believe in. It's usually the Christians who bring it up.

We understand that if christians believe that in the afterlife we atheist burn in fire for all eternity, this will help them justify treating us terribly in this life, so we would like you to stop believing it.
