Does John Kerry's remark about stupid G.I.s apply to Cindy Sheehan's dead son too?

Apparently, all GIs, all veterans. Coming from a man who threw away his medals in protest, what else would you expect?

Yes, I know. Kerry says he "misspoke" and it's all a GOP plot. But he can hear his own words, and still didn't think the military deserved an apology. He even attacked John McCain for asking him to apologize! And the Democrats aren't saying a word about it. (Compare to Trent Lott's hurtful comments - he was dropped like a hot potato by the Republicans, as he should have been.)

I think all this tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about Kerry and the leftist Democrats. Did he also "botch the joke" in the past when he called our troops war criminals and terrorists? Was it also a "botched joke" to vote against body armor for our troops? Sorry, I missed the joke - or the only "botched joke" here is the Democrats' standard-bearer, this loser, this punk.

Not every veteran earns, or maintains, our respect. Timothy McVeigh was a Gulf War veteran, yet I have NO respect for him.

I have about as much respect for Kerry, and those who make excuses for him.

God help us if these types EVER get control of our government!

To our veterans, I WILL apologize - for the fact that some of our fellow citizens are so hateful - towards Bush, towards our military, towards our country - that they support this filth.

    I am livid!

People clearly missed the point of this question. But that's ok, considering it's a good, thought-provoking, discussion (we're all grown-ups here) -inciting question.

And somewhere in Crackhead, TX, Cindy Sheehan, his PR magnet, is nodding her frizzy , bleached-blond hair at AMESSNBC and saying, "Mmhmm. Ain't that the truth." What a twit. She's forgotten all about her dead son.

Anyway, thank you, whoever put the actual quote here so all the bubbleheads that are siding with Kerry can see what a true douchebag he is. He might be saying it's a "botched joke" today, but he could also flip-flop tomorrow and say that he sincerely feels that way about young people and their education... like he gives a crap about them... or the welfare of this country and the situation in Iraq.

I, for one, would not trust that man for ANYTHING. He let down his comrades in Vietnam when he came back and bad-mouthed them. He was too wimpy to stand up to the press, because we all know how terrifying they are in comparison to an actual, real enemy in combat! How could anyone even think of trusting him to lead a country? At least President Bush knows where he stands on issues. He's a joke and he's puppeteered by his "wife".

Sorry to get off topic here. I was just trying to address some of the issues that were being brought up here.

I am ashamed to be from the same Commonwealth (MA isn't a state, you know) as Sen. Kerry.

    Kerry said, and i quote:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

    ---John Kerry

Everyone here defending him is blind and down right ignorant. I think stupid can be thrown in there as well. Here are some facts:

According to figures readily available on the Internet, 99.9 percent of the enlisted forces have at least a high school education, 73.3 percent have some college, 16.2 percent have an associate’s degree or equivalent semester hours, and 4.7 have a bachelor’s degree.

What’s more, over 85 percent of field grade officers have advanced degrees – 70.7 percent have master’s degrees, 12.1 percent have professional degrees and 2.5 percent have doctorate degrees.

The above stats exceeds ANYTHING that the liberals can produce. Guess all us dumb rednecks went and got edumacated huh? That and we still believe in our country when Liberals have abandoned it.

I would think that it applies to all Veterans

its amazing to me to see the spin control the Dems are trying

    to muster

    blame the repubs blame Fox

when its their own big mouth Senator that started this fire

    storm

the best thing to come out of this is

    actions speak louder then words

instead of fessing up and apologizing right away

Kerry takes the path of least resistance (a path he has been down before)

and swaps the blame onto people who have nothing to do with the issue

typical Kerry and typical Dem spin but its so blatant this time

    that everyone can see

and they have to wait 4 or 5 days before Dem sympathetic

pundits can help him with damage control lol

  • Just goes to show how once again the Republicans manage to take a war hero's words and twist them to meet their campaign needs. Bush was a draft dodger and Kerry fought. I will trust Kerry any day.

Considering Kerry's comment and his ridiculous explanation later, he'd probably say that the ones who get injured or killed are even less educated than the ones who live.

Hey Albert, John Kerry didn't say anything about GI's.

Stop watching Fox Notnews are you will forever be going through life like a mushroom.

Evidently you did not listen to what he said. He was referring to the poor performance of the Bush Administration. Remember these Neocons wanted to abuse and humiliate Arabs so they would RESPECT the United States. Had Bush and his advisors known a little about Arab history and culture, perhaps this war would never have happened - the short answer to your question is : NO.

lol. I think that he just lost the 2 military votes that the democrats may have had! What an idiot John Kerry is.
