No, Kerry insulted all the men and women who wear the uniform. For all the insults Kerry throws at Bush over his language quirks, why are we to believe thay the superior-mastery-of-the-spoken-word john f kerry "botched a punch line"? I heard the recording. He could not have been more clear in his meaning. In Kerry's world, soldiers are morons. This coming from someone who didn't know he was supposed to throw the grenade after pulling the pin. Oh John, if you put a bandaid on that, they'll give you a purple heart, so you can go home and call our troops "baby-killers" and rise to power in the democrat party.

The worst part is that leading up to election day there is so much bipartisan bickering that not a single candidate who's running or campaigning for someone within their party can focus on the greater good - what's good for the city/state/country.

When was the last time any of us saw a political advertisement that proposed something the candidate planned to do instead of an advertisement that badmouthed their opponent?

Itdoesnt matter how the republicans or the democrats handle this is one thing thats not really important, its the troops who are reading Kerry's comment or hearing it broadcast, more negativity at the military calling them uneducated , truth or not, you really think its great when our own senator or maybe soon to be ex senator, insults the children and men and women protecting our country. Oh wait, this is Kerry, I am sure he'll change his mind again tomorrow....Like he went publicly saying he refuses to apologize, yet this morning he apologized for the botched joke, not the insult to the troops....he needs a crane to get that foot dislodged from his throat.....

I think your opinion is about as wacky as it gets. You are so disengenuous that you can't even admit that Kerry has a long history of trash-talking American Servicepeople. You can make excuses for that dispicable piece of trash all day long but you know what the truth is, even if you won't admit it.

The President's record is not bad, no matter how much you want it to be, and it's a whole lot better than that of his predecessor, who was an out and out crook. What's being conveniently overlooked by you is that the economy is booming, unemployment is way down, the wartime deficit is decreasing, taxes are down and didn't I just read that now North Korea is coming back to the disarmament talks? The only bad record is the record of liberal Democratic lies.

What has really been overlooked are the two other times that Kerry has been disrespectfull to our military. Once when he threw his medals away and said our men in Vietnam were killing and torturing women & children. Again, when he said our men in Iraq were raping and killing women and children. Is it any wonder that he had a freudian slip this time?

I, of my own free will, enlisted in the US Army after graduation..... from college. I speak multiple languages, hold two masters degree, and would happy to go toe to toe with Kerry on any issue of debate. He insulted the troops, and he was wrong. He also insulted the American military in every respect. It is typical rhetoric from him. Our troops are the best educated, best equipped, best trained military in the world, and Kerry certainly would have known that if he had been commander in chief. Thank God he never reached that status.

You can't tell me that anybody that watched Kerry make his comment thought he was talking about Bush. And everybody knows that the dems are running a smear campaign... not against the republican candidates who they can't argue issues with, but rather against Bush who has taken a tough, but noble stance on Iraq and Foley who was tossed out of office. We are used to Bush bashing, and everybody knows that it is purely political.

Words have meanings. Kerry's words had very clear meaning. If he screwed up and didn't say what he MEANT to say then he has to live with that, because we only have his word on what he "meant" to say. The Dems aren't nearly so quick to forgive faux paus when they come from the GOP, so they better just hold their collective noses and take their medicine like big boys and girls.
