Why Kobe did not play?

That's like 3 questions, so shame on you...but he didn't play because he's being cautious (or he's being a wuss). He should be back in a week apparently. The Lakers are a better team without him because they all get to shoot when he's not playing. Lamar Odom always had star potential, it's nice to see him mature...

Kobe did not play because of of his knee injury. He should be back pretty soon. I mean, he could of played when lakers played the suns that opening day, but why take a chance. Why play and then his knees get even worse to the point where he will be out for 15 more weeks; perhaps maybe the whole year even. I'd rather have him wait for a little while. Of course they are going to need kobe in the long run. Just because they beat the suns doesn't mean they are going to be a good team without kobe. They were just hot. Look at chicago bulls; they beat the world champs by 42 points and now they are losing by like 20 points to orlando. You could tell if a team is good midway of the year. When the other team plays the lakers and kobe is playing, they double team him. When they double team him, that leaves the other people open. Kobe is the type of player that can't be stopped. You could slow him down, but once he gets hot forget it.

Knee is sore from off season knee surgery could be back in 5-14 days. NO lakers is not a better team without Kobe. It easy for Odom and others to step up knowing your superstar will be back playing soon.

Kobe will be back. The laker only have one good player without Kobe. Lamar Odom is pretty good.

i think the lakers are always better without kobe, kobe is a great player, but hes not always the best team player, the lakers have a better chemistry without kobe on the court because kobe dominates the court by himself, last year in the playoffs against the suns...kobe put up huge numbers but his teammates struggled, but as soon as kobe stepped off the court the lakers played better ball both as a team and as individuals, the best thing that the lakers can do this year is play kobe when they need him and take him off the court when necessary

Kobe was not playing because his knee was aggravating him. He was being cautios of receiving an injury. He will be coming back soon. The lakers are worse without him because even if you say he always has the ball he always gets a lot of points which can win games. The reason players are stepping up is because without Kobe they feel as if their expectations of themselves must be higher.
