Why Ekta kapoor's soaps are popular?

simply b'coz people love watching this crap! and are spineless enough not to admit it....ekta kapoor.. whatever she maybe, is a wonderful businesswomen, she knows what to do and when! don't blame her for her popularity .she's just giving people what they want. pity that people have become so stupid! even an ad of her serial is enough to make me wanna puke!

the reason is that she has managed to hold the nerves of indian women mainly housewifes, who try to break away from their monotonous routines by watching these soaps which have all the masalas, drama, emotions, overacting and thrill. Probably this way they try to vent their frustrations out. Now this soap thing is also spreading amongst children and young girls. Soon we will become a country of couch potatoes and Ekta Kapoor will be proud to say that she has changed an entire generation.

even i hate ekta kapoor's serials

they really suck

even i don't understand that if soooo many hate her serials why are they soooooo popular

it is just because of some oldy people

old and aged people, saas bahu love to watch ekta's serials

so which proves that there are adults more in this generation than youngsters...

what can we do about this

Thats beacuse the soaps connects to people of all ages especially in recent times where new and more younger actors are casted....

And usually people hide the fact that they watch soaps. So out of those 8 ppl atleast 5 love watching soaps.....

I think their story appeal to the masses, & the storyline is somewht same like in avg indian Family

...because people love gossips, rumours, character assassinations,bashing which they deny in public and big screen cinema doesn't portray these.
