I want captain Sulu to have his own because he is the only asian that was captain and needs to be a major character now. As someone said above it would also be nice to see how he moved up the ranks. I also want to see the Excelsior (?Enterprise B?) Class put in action.

Also get Sulu to have "sex" or the real, knowing that he is gay.........

From the original series, the choice is really narrowed down to two characters. Spock and Sulu. I think when they promoted Sulu to Captain, that opened up the door to following his career.

Spocks career, except prior to serving with Captain Pike, has been explored fairly well throughout Star Trek, the Movies, and even into Star Trek the Next Generation.

    My vote goes to Sulu.

You know what, I'd watch any of the characters if they were in their own series! Even annoying Nurse Chapel. I loved the original series!!!!

Spock's exotic and brilliant; Scotty was earthy and funny; Sulu went on to be a captain so it'd be fun to see how he rose through the ranks; McCoy had known Dax when Dax was in a previous host....

    There's all kinds of possibilities.

Ummm...Sulu...or Spock. I think having Sulu as a Captain with Chekov (with better hair! lol) would be great, occasionaly talking to other people from TOS. Spock is too much Leonard Nimoy, I think...It might be easier with Sulu, there is so much we don't know about him.

Sulu- He became a Captain of the Exelcior and became a famous one at that. There are a lot of story lines there.

Yes, Spock, definitely! For example, we have no idea what kinds of adventures he had before joining the Federation. Vulcans age slowly so there's all kind of history that we can bring up. It'd be fun to learn how he grew up being part of two cultures. I was raised in the USA but visited Mexico a lot as a kid, I have relatives there, so I know how it is growing up with two cultures and two heritages.

Nix Chapel. She struck me as the Harlequin romance reading bimbo whose main objective is to make sure her hair dye doesn't cause split ends.

Spock, definitely, he was the most complex person and we'd also get to learn about Vulcan life and culture. The dynamics of his family of origin sounded interesting with a Vulcan Dad and human Mom.

How about the Red Shirt guy that always gets killed in every episode. They could have a different big time actor play him every week
