  • Dilemma on moving my older cat from home or adopting my foster baby.?

In a couple weeks, I will be moving in to my pet friendly apartment to start my third year of college. We are only allowed two cats, and my roommate is already bringing hers. My original plan was to bring my 11 year old cat with me. However, I fostered a kitten for several weeks over the summer from the time he was 3 weeks old, and became very attached.

I had doubts about whether the move would be a good idea before this happened (at about 4 years old he became an indoor/outdoor cat because he started to pee inside the house, and in his new home I would have to keep him inside the apartment with another male cat - I wouldn't want to keep him inside my room all the time.

Now that I have become so attached to this kitten, I feel bad...I tried going back home and leaving him behind, but I really really miss him after a week. I still love my older cat, but I got him when I was much younger and didn't do most of the work of raising him myself, my mom did it, so I never bonded with him quite the same as I did with bottle-feeding the kitten. I feel like the kitten is my baby, and while I feel like my older cat deserves more attention (though he does get love at home with my parents, he'd get more if he was more of an only cat with me), I'm not sure it would be fair to uproot him and then either have to leave him alone in the apartment when I went back for breaks, or move him back and forth several times during the school year.

And though I am a college student, I do have the ability to provide excellent care (quality food and pay vet bills) for a cat, so that isn't an issue, I know kittens cost more at first because of all the vet care required for fixing and vaccinating them.

At home there are currently three other cats (female) so my older cat hasn't technically been an only cat, but we don't let him wander free in the house so he doesn't get much interaction with them. I'm just worried that a male cat in such close quarters might cause him to start peeing inside again, or that the move will be too stressful.

Also, if I don't take the kitten instead, he will have to go to a different home because of the limit on cats in our apartment, which makes things even harder. I feel like I'm betraying my older cat, but I love the baby!

I could possibly more to a different apartment next year that allows more cats, but that isn't definite.

Thoughts and opinions? I need some perspective.

  • I am going to college and would like to get a small aquarium. Recommendations?

Obviously I will not have much space, but I had some other concerns. I will be moving up there (4 hour drive), have to come back during winter break for three weeks, and then move back home for the summer...how would I handle this with an aquarium? And what could I put in it?

  • Can my external hard drive be fixed and how?

I have a Western Digital My Passport External Hard Drive and after a clumsy moment or two, the point where the USB cable plugs into the hard drive is loose, i.e. moves back and forth, disconnected somehow...thus the computer no longer recognizes it. I'm pretty sure the hard drive itself is undamaged.

I got the cover off, but the problem is that the little piece where the usb cable is supposed to plug into is completely unattached anymore. What do I do?

  • I will enter college next year. What credit card should I apply for if I have no previous credit?

I have a checking and a savings account as well, and plan on paying the balance in full each month, to build credit for a later date.

  • Should an 18 y/o be able to be alone with her boyfriend?

My parents think it is a huge problem and that there is something really wrong with me being left alone with my boyfriend (responsible, has a full time job with good pay, 21 y/o) without adequate supervision. Yes, I am still living with them, but I am moving away to college in two months where they won't be able to know what I am doing. Why is this such a problem for them now? I understand they are my parents and are concerned for me, but I think we have reached a point where they need to not interfere directly with my choices and let me be. They can have concerns, but I think they should just maturely discuss them with me, not act on them and make me feel like an immature person for having the opinions that I do.

  • New samsung 23" HDTV/monitor only displays black and white when connected to ps2...help?

I bought my ps2 a few days ago and it worked fine hooked up to our old CRT tv...then I connected it to the Samsung I just bought, and everything displays in only black and white. I haven't bought an antenna yet and it isn't set up with cable, so I don't know how it works in that regard. Can anyone help?

  • Can I get my data back? Portable external hard drive...point where cable connects is too loose/broken?

I have a WD portable external hard drive. The point where the cable that connects it to the computer plugs in one the device is too loose and now of course doesn't work, probably from when I tripped over the cable recently (how stupid). I want to know if it is possible to take it somewhere and get back what I had on it without paying a huge price as my budget isn't exactly very large.

  • What weed is this? (need help identifying it for a school assignment)?

    http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e170/trekcat/IMG...

Bio project, and I have been having trouble identifying it. Was green, growing low to the ground with clusters of leaves like this one. Found in a lawn that had a variety of other plants growing in it as well.

  • Community college grades in CSU/UC gpa?

I'm a high school senior nearing time to apply to college. Now, when I apply and attach the transcripts from the community colleges I've attended, will the grades from those courses be calculated into my GPA at whatever CSU/UC I end up attending? Thanks!

  • IB Physics Project?

We collected the data (weighed recyclables and organized by type- plastics and aluminum- for two weeks). Now I am just looking for some more ideas on what else to do so all the members of my group can do something different. Any ideas on what we can do with the data and what else are welcome. :)

  • Looking for a job...?

I'm a hard-working high-school 16 y/o junior with a 4.6, perfect attendance, active at school, and hoping to still get a summer job somewhere in southern California. Probably won't be a able to work much into the school year, studies and sports will take up a lot of my time. Is it worth still looking for a job? What place might hire me at this point? I really would like a job, but I have begun to resign myself to the possiblity that I probably won't get one. Suggestions, etc. very welcome.

  • Would colleges like me? Do I seem to be too much/not enough of something?

I'm a sophomore in high school right now (girl) and I've been thinking about college alot. I did varsity cross-country last year, jv this year, varsity track and field, and I do jv wrestling. I'm heading for IB, I had a 4.6 this year and I have all A's right now...Alg 2/Trig, AP World (like the top of my class) PIB Chem...I have a blackbelt in martial arts, been doing that for five years. I'm in the red cross club at school, active in that. Started a club also, thats going good. I'm also in Sea Scouts (just joined), that should definitely work out for leadership, I don't like doing ASB at school.
