Should an 18 y/o be able to be alone with her boyfriend?

My parents think it is a huge problem and that there is something really wrong with me being left alone with my boyfriend (responsible, has a full time job with good pay, 21 y/o) without adequate supervision. Yes, I am still living with them, but I am moving away to college in two months where they won't be able to know what I am doing. Why is this such a problem for them now? I understand they are my parents and are concerned for me, but I think we have reached a point where they need to not interfere directly with my choices and let me be. They can have concerns, but I think they should just maturely discuss them with me, not act on them and make me feel like an immature person for having the opinions that I do.

18 you are an adult. They only busy themselves with your life because you still live at home.

Well, if you are moving away in 2 months, why not respect their wishes now and keep the peace? They want to protect you and keep you safe as long as they can. Letting go for parents can be difficult. They never want to see their kids get hurt emotionally or otherwise. So they attempt to keep them safe any way they can. And they know an 18 year old female with a 21 year old male can easily lead to ....SEX! And face it, isn't that why you want to be alone with him?? Just be careful and use birth control. You are going to do what ever you want soon enough, but don't let the possibility of pregnancy stop your college and career. There will be a time for it and you will have a means to support yourself. But for now, be careful and go for your career! That is why you are going to college, isn't it? Never lose sight of your goal!
