Can my external hard drive be fixed and how?

I have a Western Digital My Passport External Hard Drive and after a clumsy moment or two, the point where the USB cable plugs into the hard drive is loose, i.e. moves back and forth, disconnected somehow...thus the computer no longer recognizes it. I'm pretty sure the hard drive itself is undamaged.

I got the cover off, but the problem is that the little piece where the usb cable is supposed to plug into is completely unattached anymore. What do I do?

A good computer repair tech can reattach that USB connector. Check the yellow pages (or if you don't know what those are) check Yahoo maps for a repair tech near you.
