Trying to outlaw it hasn't been effective, and if it was legal, those women would have some protection. Look at how often hookers are physically abused, either by their pimp or a john. A lot of hookers get murdered, and hardly anyone cares. If they had some legal protection, they'd be a hell of a lot safer.
