Im really worried,She does also have a male with her in the cage ,i dont know if sh could have mated and thats what happens when they are about to lay eggs ,but its weird .

That's called "diahrea", like it is in people. TI's not serious (unless she stops drinking) but what is serious is the underlying cause. Birds don't get indigestion- there is usually a far more serious caus eof the diahrea.

There are three parts to a normal bird poop:

Part 1: Poop (faeces). this part should eb brown (may be greenin seed-only birds). Thje colour may change according to what they've eaten (blueberries make scary-looking poops that are actually normal). Red, bloody or loose stools are aBAD BAD BAD sign. The faeces should be well formed and firm.

Part 2: Urate. this is the "White stuff" It should be liquid, but slightly "creamy" in texture. If it is red, bloody, yellowed etc this is a BAD BAD BAD sign.

Part 3: The urine. This is normally colourless liquid. Yellow or red urine is a BAD BAD BAD sign.

If you bird is showing any of the listed bad signs or is missing a part of her "poops", take her to the vet RIGHT AWAY and include a complete blood count (CBC), graham stain and bacterial culture in the check up. THe extra cost will be worht your peace of mind- not to mention her health!

This is the watery waste from the kidneys. There will be varying amounts of liquid urine in a dropping depending on the amount of water ingested. For example, a bird that is consuming a lot of fruits and vegetables (with high water content) will urinate more than a bird that is just eating dry pellets. Of course, a bird should always have access to fresh, clean drinking water, and it is best delivered by the use of a water bottle to prevent bacterial contamination from fecal matter and foods dunked in the water bowl. There are three parts to your birds droppings. Fecal, the dark middle part, the Urates, the white part, and Urine. This sort of thing can happen when the bird has a kidney problem. Keep an eye on your bird for any signs of ill health.See a vet immediately if you suspect illness.

An avian vet would be the smartest way to go! And any change in normal habits is always cause for concern.

Sometimes giving too many greens causes watery diarrhea...could this be the case? If so, withhold them for a few days to see if this clears it up.

Otherwise some sort of infection could be present in the body and your hen may need an antibiotic to clear it up.

Also, is she broody...sitting in a nest...laying eggs? Best to write every detail down to bring to the vet with you so as not to forget anything that may be important. When you do take her, be sure to put her in a smaller carrying cage if possible and wrap well if cold where you are. No point in getting her sick on the way! Best wishes and maybe in the comment section, let us know the outcome.

Well that isn't the type poop before egg laying. That is a large duck kinda poop.

Sounds like it could be a bacterial type infection. Take her to an Avian vet they aren't as expensive as you think. Mine is like $25 for an office call. She might need antibiotics,

Watch for lethargic behavior (lazy), bobbing tail, ruffled feathers, and not perching.

Poop should be solid. Look like a doughnut with a white dot in the middle. It comes out liquidish but on the paper it should not be runny.

Did you change her diet? Or give her greens?

I also have Budgies and that don't sound good. Their poop should be dark green w/ a white spot on the middle. If you can, take it to a vet, call one just to ask or find a good breeder web site.

It sounds like she might have caught something. You might want to take her to a local bird vet. Normal vets usually don't know much about birds, so you may have to do some hunting. Check with the pet shop where you got her too. Some shops employ a bird vet for that reason. Don't let it go for too long, because I had a budgie who did that and he ended up passing away. Very sad... :*(

i have a parakeet, but she does not have a mate, but her 'poop' does not sound the same as my birds, maybe you can google this in vets somehow? I did find information about our hampster about 3 months ago by doing this search.

*you may be a papa soon though!

this is totally normal ! Birds need to 'urinate' too... and the watery substance that you see, along with the 'poop', is just that. All of the birds that i've bread, and raised, did that too.
