Is it tough to get a job in New York City as a writer?

How do I go about applying for a job in New York City? Are there popular job websites? I am in the States on a dependency pass...am I dreaming to think that I'll be offered a job in New York without a green card, or employment pass?

Yes, you will find it nearly impossible. It's already extremely hard for writers to find jobs as it is, and if you don't have an employment pass or green card, it is extremely unlikely that you'll find a company that will sponsor a green card application for you.

On the other hand, this shouldn't keep you from trying, because if you don't, you'll spend the rest of your life wondering what could have been.
