My Cavalier ('89) z24 needs help....won't start.?
I just had a new ox. sensor replaced & now the car will not start. It cranks & fires, just won't start. It turned over for a few seconds n ran really ruff, blew out a puff a smoke n that was it. It is a 2.8L multi-port, fuel inj. I just got it back from a dealership & outside of it's normal "tic" in the idle, it was running a bit ruff, cutting out some when I stopped @ a stop sign n gave it gas. I didn't drive it for a day after I got it back n today it did this. Any ideas???

Check your fuel pump by placing your ear near the open gas cap and have someone turn the vehicle on, you should hear the pump come on. This is if the pump is in the tank. If you didn't hear anything then check your fuses and relays for the pump. Also check your ignition system too. Good luck.

i own a repair shop, and it sounds like they made it worse than better id look for anything that might be loose on it ,they might have accidentally knocked something loose on it,and didn't realize it,if it don't start ,and you cant find it ,id call them back and tell them about it,it might be from something that they did,,or actually didn't do right, not all mechanics have the same knowledge, and some do screw up once in a while ,and this might have happened to your car by mistake,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
