Do you bring a gift to a Golden Anniversary party (50 yr wedding anniversary)?
If so, what would be appropriate?

I agree that it's a little tough to buy a Golden Anniversary present. First, gold's expensive - and how many golden knick-knacks do you think they really want? Second, what can you buy for someone who's been married that long - they must have everything they need by now, right? Third, does a gift of money feel tacky?
Is there a family member or close friend related to the couple that you could ask if there's anything the couple may want or need?
A gift certificate to a department store might be useful. I've always thought a wreath would be an elegant gift (Ebay has some beauties). Another nice website that offers beautiful silk floral arrangements is, http://www.petals.com./
Good luck & Have fun!

A great idea for a personal and unique gift is a handmade painting made from a photo that you send.

The prices are reasonable and the outcome is amazing.

You'd better...on second thought, don't bother; they probably won't remember it, anyway!
Just kidding, yes, it's their pinnacle, so the gift should reflect a certain permanence and respect of the achievement. One gift suited to both of them, like a plaque or a matching piece of jewelry should work niceley!
