You can talk about all sorts of things.

Start with making an inventory of your favorite objects, products, people, animals, historical, current or future events, places, processes, procedures, concepts, definitions, policies and theories.

I have used a tutorial for finding some good informative speech topics at http://www.speech-topics-help.com/informative-spee...

    Tips:

    1. Describe various pros and cons of a subject.

    2. Show how to do something or how something works.

    3. Present and stimulate your public to visualize things you describe.

    4. Offer details or new information.

    5. Use - if necessary - visual aids.

I have learned that good informative speech topics focus on action steps: learn, teach and show how to do something step by step with informative demonstrational topics. Describe the importance and the general context of the procedure by connecting the action and its effects.

These informative topic ideas always are a great success, because the audience can see what you mean, and often can do the things you show by theirselves right on the spot. It causes a lot of interaction with your public.
