Does anyone know of a free program that fixes and repairs internet explorer for windows 98?
I have a computer that runs windows 98 and I keep getting the message internet explorer has errors on it and needs to shut down. I ran regirty cleaner and it had 397 errors. But they want to charge $30 to fix. Does anyone know of a program that will help me to repair these problems for free?

There are some real positives to still having win98, one is that you can take the Program CD and do what they call a load over the top. That means you can reinstall it and never lose your documents or folders, I did it many times and it usually resolves all of your registry errors.
You could try to do a IE repair as follows:
Choose Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and select System Information. Select the Tools menu, and choose Internet Explorer Repair Tool. Choose Repair Internet Explorer. Choose OK. Finally, click Yes when prompted.
I just noticed someone mentioned a restore, no such thing for win98, did not exist until win2k.

Sorry microsoft does not support 98 or Me any longer.
Try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.

you can use firefox instead. its what people nowadays are using instead of internet explorer. there are less viruses. and much more advanced than ie for windows 98 since they arent making any new updates for ie 6.0, and 7.0 is inaccesible to windows 98.
