Ted and Rush are both just selfloathing homosexuals. They use the addiction excuse hoping it will win them some sympathy.

I think the danger is supposing that you are any better than either of the targets you have chosen. Both of these men fell in a very public way that makes it easy to make them a target. But none of us are any better.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.
It is a matter of human accounting that allows us to feel that we are "OK" because there are people like John Wayne Gacie and Charles Manson types of people in the world...therefore because I have not become a mass murderer yet I must be better than they are! Gods way of accounting is a dichotomy, there is sin and there is the complete lack of sin...which camp do you stand in? There is the story of the Pharisees pursuing Jesus to have him condemn a woman whom was caught in the act of adultery. The story goes that the Pharisees stood around waiting for Jesus to choose sides and they had a plan to trap him either way. Jesus just wrote in the sand. The scriptures do not tell us what the exact nature of the writing was, but the gist is that Jesus wrote the sins of each of the accuser in the sand. As each one saw his sin revealed, he naturally got out of there before more was revealed. When everyone had left except the woman Jesus forgave her and sent her on her way. So I guess no, I don't see the humor in either persons failure as a human-being. Both are a sign of the times.

I think that rush and ted have a lot in common.
Give Ted a little credit though. It may have been late but at least he finally came clean.
Makes you wonder how the poor guy felt when he looked in the mirror after one of his God hates gays sermons.
It must have been awful to feel like that big of a hypocrite.
Jesus ask us to love even the hypocrites. I guess Ted qualifies, so we got to do what Jesus said and try to love him.

I wonder no more than I did about bill clinton`s cigar episode in the white house. I wonder what you were doing the last month !! It`s a shame we can`t see all your thoughts and actions for the last month on a big screen ?? ..... Matthew 6 : 14 - 15 .. For if ye forgive men their trespasses , your heavenly Father wiil also forgive you ; But if ye forgive not men their trespasses , neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.... Matthew 7 : 5 .. Thou hypocrite , first cast out the beam of thine own eye ; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brothers`s eye....

If Haggard's opinions were more in line with yours, no doubt you'd be wishing him well and hoping that he successfully deals with his issues.
But since his opinions are not in line with yours, you're deriding him with names like "homophobic druggie" ...
