Los Angeles..?

Cons : Traffic, smog, high rent, higher mortgage, no truly usuful public transportation, no truly good Italian restaurants, Arnold, ugly downtown area, gangs, drugs. Basically the same as any major city in North America. (Except for the traffic. It's nuts here)

Pros : Weather weather and weather, beaches, good Mexican and Chinese food, Airport is not as bad as other cities I've been to, people are usually nice on the outside (Which is all I ask for), Trader Joe's, In-N-Out Burgers, Lots of decent organic restaurants.

That's about it. Always an upside and a downside.

But I think life in Cali is alot more chill than in the east coast.

At least that's what I thought.

I live 45 minutes outside of L.A. & honestly it sucks! My husband commutes to work in downtown L.A. everyday & spends 1-2 hours one way because of all the traffic. There is no rush hour anymore, there's always traffic! You can go for 100 miles & not see an open field or space along the highways because of all the building of new homes/commercial buildings. There are so many illegals here & alot of schools are bilingual which I think keeps our kids behind academically. Many do not pay taxes or contribute to our system which means I have to pay more taxes to support their food stamps or medical bills. Very unfair. There are a lot of beautiful places in Southern California, but L.A. itself isn't spectacular. Everyone is vain, trying to compete to have the best car, best clothes, nicest house, etc.

Native Angelino here, and love it. Did move to Glendale for 15 years but came back a couple years ago.
