    the elemtents in the middle are the transition elements, usually called transition metals, groups 3-12.

    elements with the same physical or chem prop. are in the same group. if they are in the same group they have the same number of vallance electrons.

    metalloids are the elements at the bottom of the periodic table that are in i think 2 rows.

    hope this helps, didnt use all the answers but you asked the same ? a couple of times with the transition metals.
