Fossils are always good for lots of money. Have Blathers identify them then sell them to Nook. Buy the red turnip seed from the Turnip seller on Sunday morning, if you plant and then water it every day for a week it will grow into a red turnip you can sell to Nook for 15,000 bells. Fishing is one of the most lucrative exploits with the rarest fish fetching 10,000 to 15,000 bells and plenty of other commoner fish fetching in excess of 1,000 bells. Finally plant gifts of non-native fruit they will grow into trees bearing the same fruit (x3) each tree will bag you 1,500 bells on each harvest.
