Yes, there are several ways to do it. Run a third party software like AnyDvd as mentioned above, or you can track down a firmware editor or patch program for your specific model and permanently change it in the firmware. Of course this will most likely void your warranty :-)

It can be done on most DVD players and recorders. In most cases it's as simple as pressing the keys on the remote in a specific order to bring up a menu that allows you set the unit to region 0 (region = 0 means allow are region codes to play/record). Do a search for 'region code hacks' for a list of forums that should have what you need.
