whats a good free avi movie player?
ok ive attempted to download tons of avi movie players on the internet, none of them seem to be able to play the movie file my friend sent me.
i have tried real player, and a bunch of other random ones.
if u know of a player that will actually work wiht avi files..please tell me

The best player in thw web is the VLC player, its free at

plays almost anything, and looks good

I would look at the codecs that you have installed on your PC. Go here: http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/ and install the codec pack. Then try to run the AVI from Windows Media Player.

It's probably not the player that's at fault but the lack of the correct codec; download K-Lite Codec Pack Full or Mega

i was able to play my avi movie files with just windows media player 10. was also able to do so with winamp 5.24. make sure that you install the right codec. i installed XVID VIDEO CODEC 1.1

videolan probably for the player .. it will play about anything ... but if u install ffdshow it will allow u to play most anything on wmp ..
