Has your baby ever had to have an MRI?

My 9 month old has to have one today I was just wondering what I sohould expect. They told me he will have to be given an IV so that they can give him contrast and sedate him. I'm really worried.

an MRI is nothing. My mom is a technician. (that means that she is the one that is doing everything, such as taking the actual pictures on the computer and such) i used to go to work a lot with her when i was little. the machine itself is very loud and that's probably why they are going to sedate your son. it makes a kinda Whooop Whooop sound....its kinda scary when you are the one actually in the tube. dont worry about anything. the tech will more than likely let you be in the room with him. remember...dont dress him in anything that has metal on it (buttons, snaps, zippers, etc.) Good luck to your little guy and if you have anymore questions, feel free to e-mail me.
