Air pollution - BC, Canada?

Having palced BC on a short list of places to relocate to, I have unearthed some interesting facts in my research. There is apparently an issue regarding air pollution in certain parts of the BC Interior.

Having spent some time in Victoria BC, I was quite surprised at this disclosure, having always regarded BC as a pristine province in the main.

I would be interested to hear of any informed comments on this matter.

The irony about BC is that although vast and pristine, is it supports a large forestry industry. The forestry industry must use ALL that it cuts. That means a lot of useless wood goes to pulp mills. They don't pollute a lot, but they sure do stink. And the other odd thing about it is you end up with one in all these little towns. Sure you were in Victoria, but for the rest of the Island Gold River, Campbell River, Port Alberni, Port Alice, Nanaimo and Duncan all had pulp mills (some have closed) Some very small places are only there because of forestry and pulp mills. I am not sure where you are going, but say Prince George has several. That's the first thing I'd look into, are you going to a pulp mill town, and where is the mill situated in terms of the town. Some places it is only in certain weather and certain levels of production that it gets smelly.

Other than that, relatively I wouldn't say BC pollution as too bad.

Vancouver is one of the cleanest cities in the world but i would think that there are to many fires in B.C and thaqt would cause pollution but i think that B.C would be a pretty good place to go live but there are a few polluted places like all places.
