Drug test for opiates;will i fail?
i pulled a muscle in my back while sleeping and my room mate gave me a soma carasoprodal 10mgs to help rid of the pain and i took it.
Well 2-3 days later i got a random drug test which included opiates and i think that soma is an opiate.
Do you think that i will fail?

I'm pretty sure that Soma is the brand name. Carisoprodol isn't an opiate to my knowledge, otherwise I don't think it would be sold on the shelves... I've found it listed as a carbamic acid ester.

Some drugs can cause a false positive in urine tests. Supply the testers with the prescriptions you took and request a retest. State that at the time you were not taking any opiate drugs, but were taking the drugs you supply within 24 hrs of the urine test. Just stand firm to your statement that you did not take any opiate drugs. I did a quick search on most of the drugs you listed, and the wiki page of Adderall lists the following under "Contraindications, interactions, and precautions": "CYP2D6 (liver enzyme) inhibitors, e.g., most SSRIs such as fluoxetine, citalopram, paroxetine, etc. Some anti-psychotics such as thioridazine, haloperidol, and, levomepromazine. The stimulant cocaine. The opioid agonist methadone. There are additional drugs that inhibit CYP2D6, it is important to find out if any medication or drug that is being taken is a CYP2D6 inhibitor. Taking a CYP2D6 inhibiting drug along with amphetamine will lead to an elevated level of amphetamine in the system and the drug will also remain longer in the body, this can lead to undesired or possibly serious side effects." This is most likely your culprit. Also is a link to a list of drugs which can cause false positives.

I think you will be okay, I don't know if soma is an opiate but your already tested and from now on don't take any medication that is not for your use only. Good luck.

Well, if you fail it won't be for opiates, since soma Carisoprodol isn't one.
Soma isn't something to share, it's some serious stuff.

I think that you will pass it because it might have worn off or gone away.
