It's difficult to say as I do not know how you purchased Word in the first place. I'll have to posit a guess that you just bought a computer from Dell with Word and that it somehow got corrupted. If this is the case, call tech support and ask them to send you a re-install CD. Sometimes it costs, but shouldn't cost more than $10. If that doesn't work, call customer service.

Chose the "custom install" option.. although you may also want to install the office tools as well so as not to hamstring Word too much

i dont think you can you have to install the whole disk or drive
