i want to teach overseas. would like comments from those who havetaught am particularly interested in heads up

The way you wrote this question indicates your grasp of the English language is not sufficient for teaching. Have you done any research at all? TOEFL (TEST of English as a Foreign Language) is a TEST, like the SAT or the GRE. It doesn't have anything to do with teaching.

The advantages of getting a certificate are that EVERY decent school requires one. Unless you want to work for the worst boss in the worst conditions for the worst pay you'll need to obtain a certificate. Also, for someone like yourself who may have difficulty communicating in English, getting a certificate proves that you have an acceptable grasp of the English language AND the basic skills needed to teach it. Online certificates aren't worth the paper they're printed on. You need a certificate program that is at least 120 hours and includes real-life supervised teaching practice with real students.

Can you describe the differences in meaning and form of those two sentences? Can you describe the situations in which one would be appropriate but the other wouldn't? This is the kind of thing you would teach to LOWER-INTERMEDIATE students.
