I've used this before. I had a list of employees and I added their pictures as the comment. Then, when someone would mouseover the cell they would be able to see the employee's picture.

That is a good answer.
Any way..
I used to save them in a 'hidden' sheet and (with some macros) I would call the picture for each person depending on it's number.
