Hopeful that America will come to its sences, and stop interfearing with the internal affairs of others and clean our own house

It is a false since of change. The executive branch, i.e President still runs the war and with 2008 elections around the corner no democrat is going to appear to be anti-military, or pro-terrorist. So they may embarass the President with hearings but not much else. The "war" in Iraq will go on.

I feel absolutely great about it. Anytime the dirty repubs are beaten is a cause for celebration. I just hope that it can actually make a difference. I mean it's not THAT great of a majority.. And I'm not so sure after seeing some of the dems that just got in, if they're going to side with many left-winged ideas for recent events.
Have gun, will travel: That's because you got your *** KICKED. Now maybe you can truly see that the rest of the world hates your sorry ***. As if your name doesn't say enough about you anyway.

Speaking as a more Republican leaning person than a Dem leaning person... I voted independant. The Republicans have failed me on the issues I consider important. They flubbed Iraq, and they piddle around with immigration. At this point the cards will fall as they may. They are paying the price for screwing their constituents. I didn't like any candidates in my area.

Hey, Bush doesn't think you guys are cockroaches. You guys are the future leaders of the world if we don't get our act together...
I don't like Bush or the corrupt Republicans, but the Democrats are just as (if not more) corrupt and have an antibusiness agenda that will make it all the more difficult to compete with countries such as yours in the new economy...

The Rep.'s will not just go away, nor will their willingness to give Dem's the benefit fo the doubt when it comes to running this country..Dem's seem to feel,as you obviously do as well, theres going to be some kind of magic leadership now,a new age of governing, but hate to burst your bubbles, there will not be any sudden or drastic changes at all despite all the Dem's lip service about it....Just be patient, time will tell if Dem's are all they claim they are now..I'll be waiting..

It is kind of like coming home and finding your less than intelligent son has thrown a party and the house is in a shambles and even though all his friends have left, he is still inside with the doors nailed shut.

It doesn't affect normal people. My life is the same today as it was before the election. I still work, go to the gym, have sex, and enjoy life generally.
O, but here come the Democrats, saying they want to "help" me. I don't recall ASKING for their help.
Love Jack

America has started on the long road of recovery. Getting back some of the credibilty that was lost. Humbling a war monger that treated the electorate like they were sheep and casting aspertions on the patriotizm on anyone who dared question his misguided and as we now know failed foreign policy.
Absolutely Great feeling. We now await Tony Blair's fall.
EDIT: I support JackBauer's comments

Relief because change is on the horizon and that has to be a better sign than the downhill slide we've been experiencing for quite some time.

All I saw was that the Democrats now have a slim majority in both houses of congress. That's hardly what I'd consider a wipe out.
