What to ask?
I'm about to interview a young boy who because of a medical problem is in a wheelchair and i'm going to interview his mother who has many plans to gain funding for her son. What should I ask both him and his mother?
I'm a reporter and its for a feature story.

Ask the boy what his daily struggles are as the result of his disability.

Funding? What kind of funding? To further his education or simple living expenses? I would ask what the money is inteded to be used for, for starters and why can't or doesn't the mother work to support her family and where is the father? Too many people believe that the world owes them a living simply for being differently abled. Many chair users are gainfully employed and self sufficient.

I AM NOT SURE WHY YOU PLAN TO INTERVIEW THIS MOTHER. IS IT FOR A SCHOOL REPORT OR ARE YOU IN THE MEDICAL FIELD TRYING TO ASSIST THE FAMILY?
I CAN GIVE YOU THIS INFORMATION THAT SHE MIGHT WANT TO CHECK INTO, SUCH AS VOCATIONAL REHAB WHICH WILL PAY FOR HIS SCHOOLING. ALSO THEY PAID FOR MY HUSBAND TO GET GLASSES AND I HAVE HEARD THEY MIGHT ASSIST GETTING A VEHICLE MADE TO ALLOW MORE INDEPENDENCE.
Source(s): I HAVE BEEN THROUGH VOC REHAB, AS WELL AS MY HUSBAND AND MY DAUGHTER IS SET TO GO THROUGH AS WELL. - Anonymous1 decade ago

how it has affected their social lives (the medical problem. im assuming he has recently developed it and as a result cannot do the same things that they once did eg. going to movies with friends, sports)
