What are the possible reasons for battery drain on my 1998 Honda CR-V?

Last year around this time, my battery wouldn't turn over after sitting dormant for 30 minutes. I was able to get a jump the next day and 1 month later found out that my first cylinder in my car had blown. Honda was gracious enough to replace at no material cost. At that time, since they were already in there I had my alternator (or timing belt replaced-I think they are one in the same but not sure). Over the last few weeks, when I start my car, I've been noticing a strange clicking type spinning noise after it turns over. The noise doesn't happen all the time, just when my car has been sitting for several hours. Last night after commuting home, which takes me about an hour, I stopped off to visit with friends. An hour and a half later, I went to start my car and the battery wouldn't turn. Ihad it jumped and am praying to god it starts today (yes, I'm poor). What would cause a fully charged battery to die after only sitting for 1.5 hours, temp outside 58 degrees-no lights, no doors open

This could be one of two problems:

One: could be that you need a new battery,

Two: Your alternator could not be working properly, (alternator is what charges your battery when your car is on) so if that is not working, your battery will just keep draining and never get charged

It could simply be a bad battery.

In most cases they're only good for about 3 yrs.

If you need a battery,,Walmart has good batterys and are about the cheapest you'll find.

If your Battery is less than a couple years old,,and is "Supposed" to be good,,,

A Bad Alternator can drain it while just sitting still & nothing on.

I think places like AutoZone will test those things for you,,for free,,,while you wait,,,but I'm not 100% certain about that??

    Good Luck:)

Sounds like you need a new battery. Seems you never mentioned having that replaced, along with all them other delemas you've had. It could be quite possible that the battery is well used beyond its useful life expectancy. Good luck.

you could have a bad connection on the battery terminals. try cleaning the connectore and terminals. other than that may a few good friends with mechanics
