how can i convince my dad that tampons aren't dangerous?and if i use them im still a virgin?

Sorry to inform you but you cannot, tampons ARE dangerous, commercial tampons are the most harmful out of over twenty different menstrual options and the only options to have killed women. Tampons prevent normal vaginal discharge, they give bacteria a place to multiply within the vagina, they dry out vaginal mucosa leading to vaginal splitting, they introduce chemicals into the vagina also in turn into the body, they expand into the cervix causing abrasion, and tampons are unhygienic – as such tampons are linked to increased menstrual cramps and menstrual flow, vaginal infections such as bacterial vaginosis and more harmful risks such as toxic shock syndrome and endometriosis.

Tampons of course do not effect your virginity, the only way for someone to no longer be a virgin is to have sex with another person, you can try talking to him to find out why he believes otherwise, but in the end it is his belief and you need to respect that – educate him the best you can and explain to him you want to use internal menstrual options (although I would strongly recommend you use a safer menstrual option like menstrual cups or softcups, at least safer tampons such as organic tampons or sponges over commercial tampons). It is up to you what you use, but that should be based upon an educated decision so if you think they are safe then you really need to learn about your body and tampons, take the opportunity to educate him as you educate yourself.

You are daddy's little girl. It is hard for dads to deal with the fact that their daughter is putting something in their vagina even if it's just a tampon. You are right. You will still be a virgin even if your hymen is broken as long as you had not had sex. Tell him that pads make you feel uncomfortable and unsanitary. Tell him its like sitting in a pool of rotten blood and it is gross. The nastier you make it sound the better. Tell him that you are responsible and you will follow the instructions. All in all it is your body. If you feel that you need to wear a tampon then that is what you have to do. Subjects such as sanitary period products are a girls personal business. Your father wouldnt understand unless he got a period also. And thats not going to happen, so you will have to accept that he will not understand. Tampons are alot more comfortable than pads and they dont have that wet feeling as pads do. I highly recommend tampons, just be sure you change it often, every few hours even if its not completely full.

Your father is an idiot! I can't wait until you move out of his control and start living a life based on intelligence. Do you have an intelligent minister, pastor, preacher, reverend, priest or rabbi that can tell your father that he's being a moron? It sounds like he won't listen to a gynecologist, but that's worth a try, also.

Well, they kind of are dangerous due to the fact of TSS, but using tampons doesn't make you lose your virginity, and it's more comfortable than wearing a pad.

Yeah i could imagine how embarrasing that was...tell him it won't change the fact the fact that ur a virgin, it just makes you more comfortable during ur period rather than wearing a big ole pad...

Well him making a scene's doing..well...NOTHING! It's either that or a big blood mark on your jeans...he can take his pick. You have to wear them no matter what so he's gonna have to deal w/ it.

They can give you TSS. But they dont make you no longer a virgin.
