when i buzz someone at yahoo instand messenger the sound it makes sounds bad .?
i try perferences alerts &sounds I added the knock sound still nothing can it be my cpu. the bad buzz sound is still there it won't change it sounds weak the sound. do u understand now or not let me know.

Yahoo! changed the sounds from v800701 (released 10 August 06) onwards to "new" ones (they are actually from the Mac version) so our familiar sounds are no more and yes, they are incredibly difficult to hear :(
you can download the .wav files included in previous versions from..

instructions included with the .zip file but basically just unzip the file, copy and paste all the .wav files included or just the ones you want to revert back to e.g the buzz one, and drop them into
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media
and overwrite when prompted :)
the major disadvantage of this method is that future upgrades of Yahoo! Messenger will overwrite the .wav files again so they will need to be replaced
alternately, download Yahoo Sound Alerts Reset here:

which once run, means you can select from old or new sounds for each individual user and event
you can happily download future versions of yahoo messenger without having the replace the .wav files again :)
