Can you just buy a ticket to the Oscars. Or do you. have to know someone.?

No you cant buy one, you got to be involved in the academy of motion pictures.

I know that they have filler seats, but I think even with those you need to have connections. But what you can do is sit on the bleachers (for free) right next to the Red Carpet, and see your fav celebrities arrive to the Oscars. Just get there early to get a good spot.
