How is abuse defined in the context of this Yahoo Q&A?
Yahoo has given the guidelines, but still individuals may have their interpretation, and report as abusive some questions or answer they just don't like. A priest can use the strongest terms/words about sins, he will be abusive only when he makes it personal to a person or a particular group of people. There is an Asian proverb which says " The one who takes the hot pepper is the one who feels the hotness". It is the person with the guilt that feels the pain by the issues raised for public discussion. Some one say something.TQ

Seeker, individuals can report abuse anytime they feel a question or answer is abuse, but we check all the reports and take action only when that question or answer is in violation of our community guidelines.
For your example, in addition to posts which are abusive to just one person and are considered insults, more general posts may be removed for containing racist or other highly discriminatory language, or for defaming an organization or group of people. If you have any particular examples you would like cleared up, let us know.

Theyve given the guidelines, but THEY dont go by them, cuz they are letting ppl be abused with that abuse button, and taking their points without even looking at what was reported.
Its obvious they arnt reading them. People are losing points, everyday, for no reason.... and this is why it continues to happen, cuz theyre getting away with it. Nothing happens to them.
Im not sure if Yahoo will ever figure out how to fix this, but this is why so many are leaving.

that's true. interpretation is a large part of the topsy-turvy "reporting" situation here. You see this in some questions.
Couple that with yahoo workers who "report" you and it's assured you'll get a violation for it.
Then again, many ignorant peple who don't comprehend a query often "report" them.
