They just really want to be considered as Europeans.. truth is, if you go there, you will find out it is a big mix of Asian and European culture. Eastern Europe is the only right expression for it.

IT IS MY BELIEF THAT IF YOU ASKED PEOPLE LIVING IN SIBERIA THEY WOULD SAY THAT THEY ARE ASIANS, AT THE SAME TIME ASK SOMEONE IN MOSCOW AND THEY WOULD SAY EUROPEAN.

SO THE ANSWER WOULD BE MOST ARE EUROPEANS AND A FEW VERY COLD ASIANS! RUSSIA ALSO BORDERS WITH NORTH AMERICA AT THE BERING STRAIGHT.
