    hi linda,

i think you messenger has been infected with trojen.Trojanis a Trojan horse that modifies the Hosts file. It will also change your Internet Explorer home page and search pages to connect to a predetermined Web site.

there are two ways to correct it:

first is to update ur antivirus software with latest updates and then follow the following instructions:

    For Windows ME

Right-click the My Computer icon on the Desktop and click Properties.

    Click the Performance tab.

    Click the File System button.

    Click the Troubleshooting tab.

    Select Disable System Restore.

Click Apply > Close > Close.

When prompted to restart, click Yes.

Press F8 while the system restarts.

Choose Safe Mode then hit the Enter key.

After your system has restarted, continue with the scan/clean process. Files under the _Restore folder can now be deleted.

Re-enable System Restore by clearing Disable System Restore and restarting your system normally.

    For Windows XP

    Log on as Administrator.

Right-click the My Computer icon on the desktop and click Properties.

    Click the System Restore tab.

    Select Turn off System Restore.

Click Apply > Yes > OK.

Continue with the scan/clean process. Files under the _Restore folder can now be deleted.

Re-enable System Restore by clearing Turn off System Restore.

run the full system scan with it. to prevent further attack you can opt for any gud internet security suite like norton antivirus suite.

but as new trojens are coming day by day so it maybe the case that your antivirus isn't able to remove the virus. in that case the EASIEST option (the second option which i mentioned) left for you is to format ur computer and reinstall the windows. for more technical minded persons, the registry editing may be the solution. if you don't know what is registry editing or how to edit registry then it's better that you don't do it. it's far more easier to reinstall windows. and don't forget to tell all your friends not to click on any of the links which were sent by your id as when they click on such links they too will get infected. i think that's the way you got infected.

    best of luck

You have been hacked by a Spammer...

Change your password ... use a mix of numbers and letters...

This way the SPAMMER that is borrowing your account wont be able to reaccess your account...

If you leave your IM up for long periods of time, this allows SPAMMERs to access your account rather easy. Yahoo is one of the easiest to hack.

If you are not going to be using your internet or yahoo turn it off while you are away. This helps...

    GOOD LUCK

    ciao
