In 2004 and 2005 around this time, I got sick a lot. I haven't so far. I was around a lot of little kids then.

I used to. I'd get a cold every Nov-Dec. and again in March-April.
It happens like this: hoarse throat, then congestion, runny nose, sneezing, itchy-watery eyes, mild cough, body temperature about 100F and every morning I'd spend some time trying to cough up the mucous that has collected in my throat. From beginning to end it would last about 7-9 days.
But the last time I started getting symptoms I took a multivitamin before bed. I knew the syptoms very well as I have gotten this twice every year for the last 7 years! But this time I only had a hoarse throat and a very mild runny nose, that's it! It came and went within 3 days!
So, take a multivitamin (I took 1 Theragran M pill). Thats my answer..it worked for me!
Oh, as for getting a flu shot...not neccessary! I have never had a shot and only got the flu once when I was 11. But you should if you are very young, elderly or have a weakened immune system. If you are realtively healthy I wouldn't bother.

Nope, it's not just you! I always get sick like the day the weather changes! And then I'm fine for the rest of the season. But Spring is worse than Winter (allergy-wise anyway).

most people do get sick around this time. The weather change is always difficult on allergies. You are definitely not the only one!

I have a tendency of getting sick when the season changes for some reason. I have several allergies and during the autumn/winter season I may not suffer from pollen attacks but my reaction to dust etc. gets worse.

I take a mulitvitamin and an antioxidant supplement to keep my immune system healthy so I don't get sick hardly at all any more. If I get sick or get one cold a year that is a lot. If you keep your immune system healthy you won't be sick as often no matter how often the weather changes.

This is first time I've ever come down with a cold sinus allergy and the doctor said it has been widespread this time of the year.
More veggies, fresh air and lots of water and exercise is helping.

Get your flu shot. I've gotten them the last 3 years and haven't been sick with the flu since. Check the drugstores for a flu shot.

For some reason, I don't get sick in the winter holidays. Get enough sleep, drink plenty of fluids and stay positive.
