What to do about noisey neighbours?
A new couple moved in next door, a 16 year old and her 21 year old boyfriend and they open all their windows and blair out music, knocking on their door does nothing, calling their landlord does nothing, even the police (they were under staff and told us to contact the commisioner) When I do confront them, the girl says, "oh sorry I didn't hear you knock" THATS COS YOU F"ING MUSIC"S LOUD!!! and when my partner confronts them, the asshole of a boyfriend threatens to hit him - which it lead too the other night, now it's even worse. I need help before I deck them both and do some damage - because I'll have a mental breakdown. Legal advice is preferred but I need a giggle, so feel free to answer your feelings upon this situtation
Thumbs up to you first seven people, that's how many have answered up until now, especially answer 7, no I don't know how he got away with it, it's barely legal, and theyv'e been going out just on a year now!

You need to check your local noise ordinances. You should be able to obtain a copy at your local library or city hall. Most noise ordinances limit the decibel level of noise and restrict the time of day or night when noise can occur (for example, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays and until 8 or 9 a.m. on weekends).
Right now, start keeping a journal to record at what time and for how long each disturbance occurs. Neither you or your partner should go back over there. That hasn't worked, and you don't want the boyfriend trying to charge you with assault if an altercation occurs on his "property".
I'm assuming that other neighbors might have complaints as well? You need to recruit them for your cause by having them sign a neighborhood noise petition.
Then, write a professional letter to your neighbors, describing the problem and detailing the dates and times that the ordinances have been broken. State in the letter that if the noise doesn’t stop, you’ll be forced to call the police or start a joint lawsuit. Remember, keep it professional and factual. You might want to ask someone to help you compose it - maybe the librarian or someone at city hall? It never hurts to ask.
Be sure to enclose a copy of the noise ordinance with the letter, and you need to include the signatures of other neighbors who are also affected by the noise. Mail your neighbors and their landlord a copy (do not hand deliver it), and be sure to keep a copy for yourself. If possible, the letter should be notarized and sent by registered mail. If it's not, you'll have no proof that they received it.
If it happens again, call the police and explain that you have mailed them a letter of complaint, that you have a signed petition from other neighbors, and that the ordinances are being violated. Be polite, but be persistent. It's their job to enforce the laws.
On a side note, I'm not sure what the specific laws are, but is it even legal for the landlord to rent to a 21 year old MAN living with a 16 year old GIRL?
Good luck! I know what a nuisance noisy neighbors can be.

I say for noisy neighbors give them a suprise. Where I used to live the guy across from me would play his music really loud, and then turn it down after the police came and back up a half hour later. I walked into his house and asked him to turn it down, however that may not work in your case. It is disrespectfull and people are not always reasonable, but if you are assertive and this still an issue I say write your local paper and email them repeated with all of the facts until they print it or video tape it on numerous occasions show the police and if they do nothing contact your local represenative that will indefinately get something changed or move. I ren out of ideas, but good luck.

Here;s what you do....HARRASS THEM UNTIL THEY MOVE. In the middle of the afternoon, when nobody is around, cut the electricity to the house. Then fill plastic baggies with foul smelling garbabge. Slightly open one end. Set it by their door...make sure to spill some. Then get an ant farm...break it by their windows...then buy some pet store feeder mice and let them loose in the hallways....perhaps they'll move? Hey....for legal advice: Don't get caught. You can't get punished unless they catch you...

in case you reside in a house the police are the 1st difficulty to do. in the event that they hire you may whinge to the lessor. do no longer confront them ever. in case you do and then something happens like they get evicted or ticketed they're going to blame you. In an residence call the owner after a rather good variety of lawsuits they get kicked out. I had to try this one time. They have been long previous in a month from each and every of the lawsuits. never ever confront them that barely ever ever works and you open your self up for issues. wish it artwork out. i think for you . My problem neighbor parked his Harley Davidson in his residing room had a punching bag that he used in any respect hours that shook the completed residence section and performed loud music in any respect hours. He became additionally a inebriated or drug addict and likewise had a inebriated jellos noisy lady chum.

throw smoke bombs into their house, or you could key their cars, t.p. their trees, slit their tires, the list could go on forever. it may not settle the noise but you'll feel better, good luck. or just contact the cops i guess
