How does the young-earth theory explain that we can see stars millions of light-years away?

How would the light have reached us?”

Since God made the sun, moon, and stars “to give light upon the earth” (Genesis 1:14–18), those lights would be immediately visible on earth. They fulfilled their purpose on the day God spoke them into being, because He “saw that it was good.” No doubt God also made Adam as a fully-grown man—perhaps with the appearance of being 30 years old, even though he was only minutes old. Likewise, herbs and trees were already mature and fruit-bearing, to provide a ready supply of food. That would be the case with all of His creation.

The speed of light is an illusion imposed upon us by the Almighty. He lets you see the light whenever He wants you to.

I think you people are all nuts is what I honestly think. The creation myths, and there are actually three in Genesis, were created by a bunch of primitives who believed the earth to be flat, who had no idea what a fossil was and understood nothing of how the universe works. They thought the sky was a ceiling with holes in it that let light shine through. Anytime they got confused they just marked it down to God trying to confuse them.

Are you honestly telling me you can't understand reality any better than a 4,000 year old goat herder that had to use stones to count because nobody had figured out the number "0" or simple algebra yet?

    I can't see any difference,

Yes we see stars millions of light years away, AND when God created them, may be he commanded it to deliver light ar once.

You said that Adam was 30 years old shape at the momment of his birth, But still this doesn't mean that NOW a kid is born looking like a 30 years old young man.

I hope this gave a good explanation.

  • I presently remember also that sun was not created until the '4th day'. So perhaps Jesus was the light (John 1) for days 1, 2, and 3. Given that there was no 'sun' as we know it presently, perhaps those 'days' lasted more that 24 hours.

You Have the correct line of thought, Light travels I think about 186,000 MPH, & yes Adam was created as a grown man, I myself picture him to be between 20 & 30, & yes all the trees was mature, & EVEN the apple tree that so many thinks that they ate an apple, of which they didn't. Ge.2:9 Says that ALL Tress was good for food,

If I turn on all the lights at once in a city, you see them all at once. I believe Einstein called this relativity. He believed in God, that's why he was so smart.

It doesnt matter how far away they are, that is a concept of science, and it is illogical. Let's say you shine a beam at a mirror. The time it takes it to get to the mirror and back to you eye is recorded in milliseconds. But the light was on the whole time. Just because refraction takes time doesn't mean the light took any "time" to illuminate. It existed. It illuminated every thing in it's sphere of influence.

God made the lights to shine all at once. It is only our peabrains that cannot fathom this.

Excellent question! I have wondered that myself...

The word for "day" in the book of Genesis does not necessarily mean a literal 24 hr day, although God could do all that in a 24 hr period if He so chose. But my understanding of the Hebrew is that the word translated as "day" is actually more correctly translated as "a period of time" which could be a LONG period of time, I guess.

Because the big bang theory is just that, Earth is very young compared to the rest of the universe or what we know of it. The Hubble space telescope has expanded the universe and made scientists rethink, As for the God created it, that is just a fable passed down and manipulated over the years or as a lawyer would ay, "hearsay evidence". I believe in evolution it can be prooved and there is evidence to support it.

Nowhere in the bible does it discuss Dinosaurs which were here before man.

there is a gap between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2,. and the gap maybe millions of years, in verse 1 the stars and galaxies were made and in verse 2 was the repolishing of the earth.

What do I think? I think you need to take an astronomy or biology class. Light takes time to travel. The stars are so far away, it takes millions of years to reach us. The stars we see like that are how they looked millions of years ago, not today
