How do you keep your best friend from falling in love with you ?

You cant keep them from falling in love with you, but you can talk to them and let them understand were they stand with you and let them know they are going to lose you.

You know I believe that the best relation anyone can have is that with your bestfriend. It is normal in a friendship for the other party to develop feelings, n most of the times its just a phase we go thru, when u spend alot of your time with a friend and known eachother for years its hard not to. When you know everything about someone, vice versa, their likes n dislikes, their good n bad habits, the littliest things they do that u remember the most, knows you best when u r happy,sad,upset,angry,depressed. Love and care about eachother. We all want that n life, happiness,marriage, someone to share your future with. If you r certain in your heart u don't feel the same way, then you need to sit down n talk with him. Let him know that u r not looking for a relationship. Give eachother space, introduce him to one of your girlfriends you think he might have interest n. Spending more time with eachother won't help any. If its causing pain n hurt for the both, maybe its best not to be the best of friends. Now if for any reason, you may longer have his friendship, he moves on with his life and there will be that void in your life, will you be looking back n regret n tell yourself that at one time in your life he was that special person u let go. IF your friend is truly n love with u n he knows the feeling is not mutual, the friendship will either be lost or stronger than ever. Its either having you as a bestfriend still n have u n his life, or it hurts him so much to be just friends knowing he feels differently. It will hurt his heart and he might one day feel its best to no longer be n your life, if it means for him to forget about u and heal his heart.

since you said that you can trust this friend with your feelings and secrets, tell the truth in such a way that your friends feelings are not hurt. another thing are either of you married or you like someone else if not then why not see if you like this friend of yours with whom i feel so free might be this is the person to come in your life. Cause if this friend of yours goes to someone else and later if you feel that there is something in your heart later then you will be the loser so think about it,but dont break a friends heart if you have to tell then beter sit and talk about it

Alot of times it is the guy that falls for a female friend, not often does a feamle friend fall for a guy. Just make it clear from the get go that it is only friendship and never, ever cross any boundaries with her that may make her think it is more.

If you are not in that head space that you want to be in love, it does make it difficult. Let it be known that you are not there, but on the other hand, why not be in love with your best friend, you have to start somewhere. Good Luck.

tell u what can u just tell someone 'hey could you don't like me' they will be nothing like that okay, example can you deny your feeling towards a girl who u really love, I cant . But if u a really just want to be friends with her just tell her the truth okay it will be fine

What's wrong with falling in love with your best friend? If you're going to spend your life with someone, shouldn't you be friends first?

tell them just like u just told us, tell them u love them , but u r not in love with them

tell them that you cannot return their feelings, and hope that they are big enough to still be your friend.
