Sigh...Sorry but it's true. I am Chinese and I'm not pround of what some us do in pursue of eternal youth and libido.

It's long in chinese history that the placenta holds almost magical value in the medical world.

Compounded that with the one child policy and the old fashion preference for male child over female, a lot of aborted female fetus becomes... well..."available". Not legal but nevertheless up for sale. And if the placenta is so magical, then the whole bundle must be able to ressurect the dead. Thus, cannibalism took on a new meaning behind closed doors for a few bad apples.

Bottom line is, capitalism reigns. BTW, cloning and stem cell studies are in the same line of thought to some extend. They all dream of immortality one way or another.

I cant see your picture. I not sure about babies. I have heard of fetuses and placenta etc - there was a Hong kongese movie about this. I have the DVD I'll watch it again, Actually It might be Shanghaiese not sure the English subtitles weren't that good but my friend told me what it was and said that she had heard of it happening. Not sure on the cooking style. In the movie she was making dumplings!
