What are some ways to make an ear ache less painful?
I suffer from swimmers ear...anyone who has had it knows how much fun it is. I have been on 2 different prescriptions now over 4 days and the pain is just getting worse. What are some helpful tips (besides ibuprofen) to try at home to ease the pain while we try different medications?

Often a wam compress applied to the ear that hurts helps. I have read that putting a hair dryer on low and gently letting some warm air blow in the ear helps. Warmth seems to revieve ear ache pain.

the reason that is stated now to not use a gun for piercing is that a gun won't be able to be thoroughly sterilized (it has plastic parts which could melt in an autoclave) so there's a small yet genuine probability of go contimatination. yet another excuse is that guns use 'starter rings' that are purely studs with quite sharper factors on the decrease back of the metallic bar. those 'factors' are literally not extremely sharp, they're only not thoroughly boring both. utilizing such an implement is undesirable on smooth tissue yet can be a lot worse on cartilage because it does serious damage to area of the body that doesn't get better (cartilage, like nerve, does by no potential improve decrease back) and motives the probability of a lot extra serious bruising and soreness. I have had my cartilage pierced and that i won't be able to assert there replaced into no soreness. besides the undeniable fact that the reality is that the soreness replaced into minimum, lasted only for a second (and the throbbing of the damage purely lasted a couple of minutes) and has in view that healed superbly. i might want to propose going to a specialist piercer to have any 'unusual' piercing done, the position they have sterilized needles, placed on gloves and are attentive to the protection and well-being criteria to an more advantageous quantity than anybody in a mall save. it will be a touch extra severe priced yet you seriously is not apologetic about the further funds once you observe how nicely it heals.

The one time I had an earache I was told to use warm olive oil on a cotton ball and put in ear. As far as I can remember it worked (I was a child). Good luck.
