About my kitty.....?

Overall my cat is a really good, healthy cat, but last night, I was heading to my bed and I saw him scooting his butt on my carpet. could he have worms?

Hi Angela...when cats scoot their bums it generally means their anal sacs are impacted sometimes worms can also contribute to this behaviour. The Anal glands need to be expressed which a vet can show you how to do.

Your kitty might have worms. It's possible that he has poo stuck to his fur. My cat has long hair & he's scooted across the carpet to try & get it off.

I have 3 cats, they all are regularly checked by our vet and have clean bill of health, however two of them do the same thing your kitten does. Check your kittens bottom for signs of irritation, inflammation or wounds, if he has none, he's probably OK and is just using your carpet as toilet paper.

if you are worried about him having worms then take him to the vet and they'll do a fecal and tell you for sure. but it just sounds like you kitty had an itchy butt...

I know exactly what you mean. We call it the "Butt Scootin' Boogie" around my house. Man it really bugs me too.

Don't you treat your cat for worms? You should every month (or as directed).

    Yeah.

OR, his butt could just be itching.
