How Wi-Fi network working secure?.?
Boss now that I have my Wi-Fi network working I would like to know how to keep it secure. I know that I have to enable WEP encryption. But how enable /setup? I'm running WinXP as a "server" (with a D-Link G604T wireless router/modem)), and 1 Winxp clients with linksys wireless-G usb network adapter . ple help me thk .

Its not very secure compared to direct Wire connection because the hacker can blockade your connection adn get authority of your computer, my recommendation is to create an SSID, use MAC Address Filtering, and use a Firewall for the server computer in port one, and make sure its a wire connected not wireless!!!!!!!!!

WEP can be cracked, use WPA instead. Also change the SSID and turn off the SSID broadcasting. Limit the number of IP address available through the router to the number of computers in the home so that there is no available IP address for somebody can hook on to your network. These create a few redundant layers of protection.
