How to put on a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan power steering belt?

I was able to put the belt on my van, but took a while. I heard from a friend that there is a special tool that will make it easier to bring down the idler, which will make it easier to put the belt on. Is that true? And what is it called? And how much would it cost? Any help will be appreciated...... :)

they make one for the chrysler and dodge vans. It is a long bar that is kind of shapes like an L. The bottom of the bar has a built in socket. But they are about $35 and you could probably find a shop to put on your own belt cheeper than that. And you shouldnt have to change the belt that often to realy need to buy one.

Its a good extra healthful on the transverse engines yet no longer impossible. Take the belt off, eliminate the engine conceal if it has one, positioned a pan underneat and eliminate the stress and return lines from the pump. Spin the pully until the holes line up with the mounting bolts, 3 of them. faucet the pump out and set up the hot one. actual off the equipment and bleed it out via turning the wheel left and proper distinctive cases. could be noisy on first initiate. Takes a pair of million-2 hrs.
