Why does my computer not let me access certain sites?
I installed a router linksys on my landlord's computer with his full permission. we have wireless access as we live in the flat downstairs. at first it was not working then a friend got it going. We can access most sites but there are some(notably msn,or hotmail where the browser wont access the page. Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this?
icepgurl, i think it's the router too.did u ever find out why or did u just abandon hotmail like me. any way yahoo are better, but it blocks other more important sites too. maybe there's a certain type of URL it doesn't like....maybe I don't know what i'm talking about but.....is it possible?

The wireless router may have access restrictions enabled (why someone would set them up that way, I don't know). You'll need to log into the router administratively and investigate. Once there, check out the DNS servers and gateway as well, make sure they are set correctly. Good luck!

Maybe someone on the wireless network is doing that or a virus.
